Having successfully delivered similar projects elsewhere Secure Matters was asked by NHS England and Improvement to deliver a similar project across the Humber and East Yorkshire.
Introducing online consultations is seen as one way to help patients gain better access to their general practice. For those patients that can use them, they can send their request to their doctor at a time that suits them. For those that can't use them it means that it's easier to contact their practice by telephone as other patients will have sent their request online so won't need to telephone the practice.
Alongside introducing the new digital service, Secure Matters worked with practices to change their working routines to make best use of online consultations for themselves and their patients.
